Father’s Day is this weekend and what a glorious weekend to have it. There maybe a few of us at panic central already not having a table for lunch booked or any sort of plan for it.
If you’re undecided or having a panic read below for an idea of some places to visit and have a picnic.
Only a 20 minute drive from Warlingham, this National Trust place has masses of open space to have a Farther’s day picnic. With a lovely kitchen garden and lots of woodland for the kids to explore and keep entertained, what more could you want.
Roughly a 30 minute drive from Caterham is another National Trust place ideal for a trip in the sun. With gardens hidden away waiting to be found, large flat grassy areas with shade ideal to be crawled over, to a house seeped in history. Ideal for the very young as well as the older kids.
A lovely seaside town in Kent, and far less busy than Brighton. Full of coffee shops and places to pop in for lunch. With knick knack shops to pick up little bits and pieces for the kids. There is limited shade on the stony beach so make sure you take sunscreen, and a parasole.
A large park full of deer in the heart of Sevenoaks and roughly a 35 minute drive from Caterham. It has a large grassy area as you enter to have a picnic, and long paths to push the buggy or take a cycle ride while trying to hunt deer.
Whatever you’re planning on doing this Father’s Day, have a good one and enjoy!
